How to build your own ultra-modern apartment
Video game designer and former video game publisher Dan Hopper has unveiled the world’s first ultra-high-end apartment.
Dubbed the “ViveK,” the futuristic apartment will cost $1.5 million and will be built using a combination of glass, carbon fibre and glass-reinforced plastic.
The project has been developed by Hopper, who is best known for designing the original Halo series.
Hopper explained how he came up with the concept for the ViveK: “I saw a video of a futuristic hotel where you go from room to room in the shape of a hotel room, and I thought, that’s kind of the idea.
The room’s not really a room.
It’s like a giant floating room.”
Hopper, whose career also includes the video game series The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, said that the Vivek is an attempt to “give players the feeling that they are living in a real apartment.”
According to the developer, the Vivektos are based on the design of the “virtual room,” a virtual space in a video game that’s usually filled with virtual objects, including furniture, books and a sofa.
Hoppers team also created a “living room” in the Vive K to house the player, which he said is “really a place where they can actually hang out and play with other people.”
The Vivek will be capable of holding up to eight people and has been designed to be “thicker and lighter than any other space I’ve ever created,” according to the video.
Hopping said that he created the ViveKTos after reading about a Japanese company called VRS that specializes in building high-end apartments.
The company, known for building high luxury homes in Tokyo, has a virtual reality-enabled apartment in its Tokyo headquarters.
In 2015, the company announced plans to build a hotel in the same location.
VRS, based in the city of Tokyo, plans to sell its virtual reality experiences to the hotel industry and has also created the Virtual City in Shanghai.
“A virtual room is a very important part of a living space,” Hoppers told the Tokyo Times.
“I think we’re building a really beautiful, elegant hotel in this virtual space.”
Hoppers office has been undergoing renovations since last summer.
The new VRK is located at the top floor of a new skyscraper in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district.
The ViveK will be available for pre-order on February 6, 2017.
