Building components, digital building components, construction materials
New construction materials are being used in a construction site in the Philippines, where an American contractor has built a building for the military.
The Philippine National Police say the Philippine Construction Authority bought the materials for the facility, which was inaugurated on Tuesday.
The project is part of a larger $3 billion military-wide effort to modernize the country’s military, and includes building a new command center for the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Space Administration.
It is the first time the country has used materials from the United States, a key U.S. ally, officials said.
The construction work is expected to last about a year, and is expected in phases.
The Philippines has a long history of building military-grade infrastructure, but its efforts to modernise the military and other government agencies have often come at the expense of other public goods.
