According to Sony, the cables contain a strain of H2N2.
H1H1 is a respiratory illness caused by the coronavirus.
Sony is calling the recall a precautionary measure and is working with Japanese authorities to contain the outbreak.
The PS3 is also running on a different cable, and so the problem may be similar.
Sony has released a recall notice for all PS3 and PS4 components, including the cable that comes with it.
Sony says it’s looking into how to prevent H1NV1 from becoming more widespread, which could mean that a new cable might be required.
